Chapadao De Ferro

Just a stones throw away from our beloved Daterra Farms outside of Petrocinio Brazil, lies the renowned fazenda of Chapadao de Ferro where Ruvaldo Delarisse produces some of the most spectacular coffees of the Cerrado Region. It is a relatively small farm of around 250 hectares and due to its location inside of an extinct volcano, the Mundo Novo and Cattui coffee trees flourish with the mineral rich soil. The farm was obtained in 1978 after the Delarisse family immigrated to the Cerrado from the Parana region when much of the coffee in that area was destroyed by the “Great Frost of 75.” Chapadao de Ferro produces a pulped natural and a natural offering which he names after his two daughters Thais and Francis.

With Ruvaldo’s attention to details and his years of experience in the Cerrado region, he produces an amazing and unique cup that has placed his coffee in the Cup of Excellence program for multiple years. Because of the drier climate in the Cerrado Region, the natural processed sun-dried coffees seem to be the most representative of the area, giving this coffee much of its distinct character.
